Congratulations on two well-deserved TDC promotions. We’re pleased to announce that Kathy McLay is now VP, Client Services and Steven Aronovitch is now VP, Media.
“Kathy and Steven are examples of agency veterans who found an environment at Top Drawer where they could thrive and pursue their career aspirations,” said TDC’s CEO, Howard Chang. “They are tremendous leaders who share our values of putting clients first and doing business as a force for good.”
“As EVP / CCO, it is exciting to have Kathy and Steven move into positions that can help me hone the direction of the agency,” said Brian Gahan. “As a growing agency, being able to promote thoughtful leadership from within is always a key ingredient of future success.”
Steven joined Top Drawer in 2008, bringing an exceptionally empowered attitude, and more than a decade of managerial experience from agencies such as Starcom and TN Media / Initiative Media. He has since built a robust and specialized team of media experts, and honed the agency’s media strategic expertise.
Kathy came to Top Drawer from Saatchi & Saatchi in 2012, putting to work her experience working for larger, global agencies including DDB and Y&R. Within a very short time Kathy has transformed our account team, creating both an exceptional client experience and team dynamic.
“We’re off the beaten path here and able to make our own rules, and in turn are creating a new model,” says Kathy. “It’s more than advertising. We go deep with our clients, often turning their business inside out to get to the root of who they are. We have the capabilities to execute under one roof in any capacity – from building dynamic e-commerce sites, developing engaging social content strategies or producing compelling video. It’s an exciting and fulfilling place to work and I am proud to be a part of it.”
Steven agrees. “It’s a privilege to work here,” he says. “Employees are valued. Top Drawer recognizes people and when you are recognized it has a lot of thought, meaning and purpose behind it.”
Last week, Top Drawer staff assembled for a cheque presentation to Right To Play Canada’s Development Officer, Laura Lucrow Hryhorsky.
A gift of $9,720 was raised at our annual holiday party, back in December, thanks to an amazing silent auction with many items donated by our generous clients, or secured – and even handmade – by our tireless staff. TDC’s contribution enables 200 children to be enrolled in Right To Play for one full year.
Laura’s visit to our office took us on a trip halfway around the world (serving as consolation for all the staff members who didn’t win the bid on the much-coveted vacation to Exuma at our holiday party) to Kampala, Uganda – where we met Daphine, an ambitious young girl who has aspirations to one day run her country.
You can watch the video featuring Daphine, below, and learn more about Right To Play’s efforts, led by founder, president and CEO, Johann Olav Koss, who is supported globally by dedicated staff like Laura, and athlete ambassadors, including Clara Hughes, Adam van Koeverden and others.
